Lanka railway station on the Guwahati–Lumding line
Lanka railway station (code LKA) is at Lanka in Hojai district, Assam, on National Highway 54. It lies on the Guwahati–Lumding section and is run by the Lumding division of the Northeast Frontier Railway. The line was built by the Assam Bengal Railway.
Which Lanka?

On a historic Assam line
Lanka sits on the 180 km Guwahati–Lumding section, one of the oldest rail corridors in the North East. The Assam Bengal Railway laid a metre-gauge line from Chittagong to Lumding, built a branch to Guwahati in 1900 and extended the line to Tinsukia in 1903. The Guwahati–Lumding route was later converted to broad gauge and now runs as a double electrified main line through Hojai district.
