Gatimaan Express was launched on 5 April 2016 between Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi and Agra Cantt.
It was introduced as India's first semi-high-speed train and was capable of operating at speeds of up to 160 km/h.
The train used modern LHB coaches and electric traction.
Gatimaan became an important step in India's development toward faster passenger services before the introduction of Vande Bharat trainsets.
