The Nizam's city terminus
Hyderabad Nampally railway station is officially named Hyderabad Deccan (code HYB), but almost everyone calls it Nampally, after the neighbourhood around it. It opened in 1907, built and run by the Nizam's Guaranteed State Railway of the princely Hyderabad State, and it is the closest of the city's main stations to the old city and the government district. Today it belongs to the South Central Railway under the Secunderabad division and is graded NSG-2.
