Nashik railway station is officially Nasik Road or Nashik Road (station code NK), the main station for Nashik city, Nashik Road and surrounding areas in Maharashtra. It is run by the Central Railway under its Bhusawal division and lies on both the Mumbai–Delhi and Mumbai–Kolkata main lines. It is about 9 km from Nashik city centre, so allow time for the journey into town.
One of India's older, busier stations
The station dates back to 1862, on the Great Indian Peninsula Railway's route inland from Bombay. That route grew from India's first train, Mumbai to Thane in 1853, to Kalyan in 1854, and on to Bhusawal, Khandwa (1866) and Nagpur (1867). The Igatpuri–Manmad section, which includes Nashik Road, was electrified in 1967–69. Today nearly 300 trains stop here, it is an A1 category station and it ranks among Indian Railways' top hundred booking stations.

Nashik Road has been recognised as one of India's cleanest stations, placed 6th cleanest in the A1/A category in 2021 and 2022.
