Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Patna's relief station
Rajendra Nagar Terminal (station code RJPB) is one of Patna's five major railway stations, located in the Rajendra Nagar area of the city. It is run by the East Central Railway through its Danapur division, and was built specifically to ease the crowding at Patna Junction.
History
- 31 March 2003: the terminal is inaugurated as a full-fledged station, built at a cost of about ₹8.61 crore.
- Then Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav flagged off India's first stainless-steel covered wagon (BCNHL) train from here and unveiled a statue of Dr Rajendra Prasad, India's first President, after whom the station is named.
- 2003–2004: the line through the station is electrified.

Because it was designed as a terminus, Rajendra Nagar Terminal is the starting point of several well-known trains, including:

Express services towards Indore, the South Bihar Express and the Rajendra Nagar–Banka Intercity also use the station.
Practical information
The main entrance is opposite the College of Commerce, Patna, and parking is available. The station lies on the Howrah–Delhi main line (Asansol–Patna section), about 55 metres above sea level. A Patna Metro station at Rajendra Nagar is under construction nearby.
