Mulund station on Mumbai's Central line
Mulund station (code MLND) is on the Central line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway, run by the Central Railway. It serves Mulund, a suburb in Mumbai's north-east, and stands on Lokmanya Tilak Road. Local trains connect it with South Mumbai and with distant points such as Khopoli and Kasara.
History
- 1920s: the suburb of Mulund is laid out.
- 1931: Mulund station opens to serve it.
- 1970s: a new goods terminal is built at Mulund to handle growing freight.
- 13 March 2003: a bomb explodes on a train pulling into Mulund at 7:45 pm, killing 10 people and injuring 70.

Trains run south through Vikhroli, Kanjurmarg and onwards to CSMT, and north to Thane, Kalyan and beyond.
